The Limassol Marathon was run Sunday 24 March 2013, leaving winners, participants and crowds a fulfilling taste of leisure and joy. This year the seventh in a row, the Limassol marathon drew more than 3800 runners from all over the world. The marathon slogan ‘Run along the Waves’ represents the true experience of the event’s participants. Under a dazzling blue sunny sky the participants enjoyed a beautiful morning on one of the most picturesque seafronts in Cyprus. Locals together with visitors from 50 countries put their problems and the stress of everyday life aside and celebrated the beginning of spring.
The “Tour of Cyprus”, a large scale international cyclosportive event takes place at the end of March. The event is open to both professional and amateur cyclists from Cyprus and abroad and encourages competitors to enjoy the rich cultural, natural and culinary heritage of the island. Through the different routes of the competition participants discover the coast, the picturesque villages and the breathtaking nature of Cyprus landscape in spring.
