The Fig Tree Bay is one of the most popular beaches in Cyprus. It takes its name from a fig tree which was providing shade to the locals before the area became a tourist attraction. A long stretch of beach covered with fine sugary white sands welcomes visitors to the crystal clear and shallow waters. The beach is ideal for families, couples and groups and is a favorite weekend destination for the locals too. The amazing green blue of the water surrounding a small rocky island very close to the shore create an idyllic setting.
The beach is organized with, changing rooms, showers, toilets, parasols and sunbeds for rent and it is surrounded by various restaurants and kiosks. Safety is ensured with lifeguards on watch. There is a full range of water sport facilities offering fun water games and diving lessons from PADI qualified instructors. Some of the most unique diving sites are situated close to the area.
The beach is easily accessible as it is situated in the heart of Protaras and there is a parking place as well.
