Limassol is looking forward to organising this year’s 7th Limassol Marathon GSO. Jointly organised by the Limassol Chamber of Commerce, the Limassol municipality, the GSO and the Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Co , the marathon will take place on Sunday 24th March 2013.The Marathon is accredited by the International Association of Athletics Federation as well as the AIMS and is officially the Cyprus Marathon.
Participating in the marathon is a challenge for young and old, amateurs and experienced marathon runners .It is also a pleasant marathon as it runs through the Limassol coast with constant sea views , on a traffic- free flat route. The various race options covering all endurances and age ranges are:Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10 K Health Run, the Corporate Race and the 1 K Children , Students’ Race.
The 2012 Limassol Marathon was a great success as it attracted visitors from over 40 countries with over 2000 participants and place Limassol on the international Marathon map. Such events benefit Cyprus as a sports culture destination especially among younger generation.
