Ayioi Anargyroi Chapel | Map

Ayioi Anargyroi Chapel is a small chapel located at a breathtaking location at the eastern part of Ayia Napa. The chapel is build on a rocky small cliff overlooking the sea and the turcoise waters of the picturesque Cape Greco situated close by. The scenery is beautiful as the chapel is also adjacent to the Cape Greco Natural Park.

The Chapel is dedicated to the twin brothers and Saints Cosmas and Damianos who were both doctors and miraculously healed the sick people without receiving any kind of payment. "Anargyroi" means without money. One of the most popular miracles they did was when they transplanted a leg taken from a recently deceased Ethiopian to another person who was suffering from septicemia and lost his leg. Their memory is honored by the Orthodox Church on the 1st of July and on the 1st of November. What visitors should not miss is the wooden staircase that leads underneath the chapel to the Ayioi Anargyroi sea cave. As believed, the blessed water of the Saints is found there.

Visitors can have a splendit time by visiting the chapel. A pilgrimage at the Ayioi Anargyroi Chapel can be combined with several other activities such as hiking at the Cavo Greco Natural Park, admiring the formations of the coastline - one could take fantastic photos here - dive from the cliff of the chapel and go scuba diving as there is a popular diving site or relax at the golden sandy beach and the welcoming blue waters of the Konnos Bay beach situated only a few kilometers at the east. A small pine forest surrounds the bay and there is a small restaurant where one can enjoy a refreshment or a meal under the cool shade of the trees.
